‘NAPE Members Welcome Here’ Campaign Launched

 For Immediate Release:

Tuesday, January 30, 2018

ST. JOHN’S, NL– The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) launched a campaign today that will allow business owners from across the province show that they welcome NAPE members at their establishments.

“I have heard from many businesses who do not support the approach taken by spokespersons of the St. John’s Board of Trade and the Employer’s Council in recent weeks. Many of these businesses rely on public sector workers to make their business succeed and were concerned that the recent fallout would hurt their bottom line,” said NAPE President Jerry Earle. “We developed the ‘NAPE Members Welcome Here’ campaign to give businesses that support NAPE members an opportunity to visually show that support.”

“This is a simple, positive, and voluntary way for NAPE members know where they are welcome, while giving participating businesses increased sales as well as free promotion,” said Earle. “It’s win-win.”

Any business that welcomes the support of NAPE members can put a #NAPEwelcome decal on its front door or window and post a picture of it on social media together with the name of their business and the hashtag #NAPEwelcome. We will post and share the name of each business as a free promotion for them.

We are also asking NAPE members to take a selfie when they see a business with the decal and post it to social media with the hashtag #NAPEwelcome to help spread the word.

All businesses across Newfoundland and Labrador (not just those in the St. John’s area) are invited to take part.

Decals can be ordered on the campaign website: www.napewelcome.ca or by calling NAPE headquarters at 1 800 563 4442.

A copy of the campaign decal is attached to this email.
