NAPE Members with Country Ribbon Vote in Favour of Agreement
ST. JOHN’S, NL– Workers at Country Ribbon, who are members of The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE), have voted in favour of the tentative agreement that was presented to them. The vote took place yesterday evening.
NAPE represents approximately 300 workers at Country Ribbon between the production facility in Pleasantville and the Cochrane Pond location.
According to NAPE President Jerry Earle, the agreement includes monetary increases in wages as well as several improvements in contract language.
“We are pleased to see that the tentative agreement was satisfactory to the membership at the Country Ribbon,” said NAPE President Jerry Earle. “This means that our proud, dedicated, and hard-working members can continue to make high-quality chicken products right here in Newfoundland and Labrador.”
“I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of NAPE Secretary-Treasurer Bert Blundon and the NAPE Board of Directors, to thank the bargaining teams for their hard work in reaching this deal,” continued Earle.
