ST. JOHN’S, NL– The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) has reached a tentative agreement for approximately 50 home care workers with Caring Hands Home Care Inc. This agency provides home care services in Harbour Breton and surrounding area.

The tentative agreement is based on the template for the ‘Group of 17’ agencies and includes monetary increases in wages as well as improvements in contract language.

“We are very happy to reach a tentative agreement with another home care employer,” said NAPE President Jerry Earle. “I would like to congratulate the bargaining team for their determination and perseverance during this long and arduous set of negotiations. I believe we have reached an agreement that will be favourable to our home care members in the Harbour Breton area.”

Details of the tentative agreement will be released to members at the ratification meetings, which are currently being scheduled.
