ST. JOHN’S, NL– The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) has reached a tentative agreement for over 750 home care workers with Tender Loving Care Nursing and Home care Services, Inc.

The tentative agreement is based on the template for the ‘Group of 17’ agencies and includes monetary increases in wages as well as improvements in contract language.

“We are very pleased to reach this point after such a long period of negotiations,” said NAPE President Jerry Earle. “Since we reached an agreement with the ‘Group of 17’, we have been able to reach tentative agreements that have been, to this point, favourable to home care members in other agencies. These workers deserve to be fairly compensated for the crucial service they provide to the people of this province and these agreements help move them closer to that goal.”

Details of the tentative agreement will be released to members at the ratification meetings, which are currently being scheduled.
