Purity Workers Vote To Ratify New Contract

ST. JOHN’S, NL – Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) members at Purity factories Ltd. (Purity) have voted in favour of ratifying a new collective agreement.

According to NAPE President Jerry Earle, the new agreement contains increases in wages, uniform allowances, and severance. The agreement also contains improvements to insurance benefits and compassionate leave provisions, as well as other enhancements to contract language.

“We are pleased to reach an agreement that is acceptable to our members at Purity,” said Earle. “I would like to thank the negotiating teams on both sides of the table for their effort and energy in finding a deal. Our hard working members at Purity can now focus on creating quality foods, candies, and snacks that are made right here in Newfoundland and Labrador and loved the world over.”

The new Agreement is effective as of June 27, 2015 and is set to expire on June 26, 2018.

NAPE represents over 50 members at Purity.
